A key pillar of Refugee Education Australia’s strategy is to build connections and provide spaces  to share information, resources, good practice, and news and updates.

Communities of Practice (CoPs)

Humanitarian Scholarships CoP

Unites students, educators, and advocates to improve humanitarian scholarship programs for refugees and asylum seekers

Supporting Refugee Students CoP

Unites educators and support workers across schools, universities, TAFEs, and settlement organisations to develop tailored strategies that address the unique language, literacy, and belonging needs of refugee, asylum-seeking, and migrant students.

Career Advising CoP

Connects careers practitioners across education and settlement sectors to share strategies for supporting refugees and asylum seekers who face significant employment barriers in Australia.

Trauma-Aware Teaching and Research CoP

Brings teachers, researchers, practitioners and advocates who are committed to embedding trauma-aware approaches across every aspect of their work—from the classroom and to the practice/ research field.

Australia-wide Refugee Education and Empowerment Networks (REENs)

""

Refugee Education Australia is proudly supporting the  establishment of new state/ territory-based Refuge Education and Empowerment Networks across the country, primarily focusing on schooling but also pathways to further education, resettlement, and many other topics that our members request.

We are taking a place-based approach that acknowledges the regional variation with support for refugees to engage in schooling, collaborating with local experts to create regional networks where colleagues can share ideas and good practice, problem solve challenges, and develop connections across schools, departments, and sectors.
