Students supported by Refugee Education Australia

For Students

Students with lived experience of forced migration sit at the heart of everything Refugee Education Australia does. Our mission is to work alongside refugees, refugee-led organisations, community and settlement partners, and education institutions so that every student can access, participate, and succeed in education — from early childhood through to higher education.

Below you’ll find the key supports and resources we’ve gathered for students, including information on scholarships, financial assistance, TAFE access for visa holders, and the Pathfinder Hub — home to our scholarship application guides and the next step after planning your pathway with the REA Pathfinder tool.

Scholarships

A curated list of scholarships available to students with a refugee background, asylum seekers, and people seeking asylum — covering school, vocational, and university study across Australia.

Financial supports for students

A searchable directory of financial resources, emergency grants, and hardship support options that students can tap into while they study.

TAFE access for TPV/SHEV and Bridging Visa holders

Information for students on Temporary Protection, Safe Haven Enterprise, and Bridging Visas on how to enrol and access fee support at TAFEs around Australia.
